Exporting Data
The Client Portal allows you to download any of the available reports, as well as their underlaying data. This feature comes in handy when you need to examine specific details of your declined transactions, conduct your own analysis, or reconcile data with your CRM.
There are three types of exports available:
- Report: This export generates an overall report for your chosen period in a .xlsx format. It's the only synchronous export, meaning you can download the file directly from the current screen.
- Transactions: This export provides a .csv file containing every transaction during your selected period. It operates asynchronously, entering a queue for retrieval a few seconds to minutes later, depending on transaction volume.
- Payments: Exporting payments generates a .csv file for all payments made within your chosen timeframe. It includes comprehensive details for the latest transaction of each payment. Similar to the Transactions export, it's asynchronous, with the file available for download shortly after.
What's the difference between a Transaction and a Payment export?
When FlexPay retries a failed payment five times, the Transactions export will include all five entries, each detailing transaction ID, timestamp, retry count and more. In contrast, the Payments export consolidates this information into a single entry, representing only the latest attempt and summarizing the current state of the payment.
Note
Not every report in the portal will present the option to export Transactions and Payments. Depending on the specifics of each report, you may be able to export one or the other.
How to Export
When viewing any report within the portal, you'll find the Export button located on the right side of the screen, just below the Data Refresh timestamp.
If you select the Report export, the download starts immediately.
However, if you choose either the Transactions or Payments option, a message will appear indicating that the export has been queued. Additionally, a link to the Manage Export section will guide you there.
After submitting an export, you can find it listed in the Manage Export section of the portal.
The Status column indicates the current state of your export. Once FlexPay finishes processing and preparing the file, the status changes to Done, and a link to download the file appears in the Message column.
If you log in to FlexPay as the Account Administrator, you'll have visibility into exports performed by all users within your account. For users with different access levels, like Account Reader, visibility is limited to their own exports.
Important
Please be aware that all files remain accessible for 30 days before being marked as expired.
